Staete Landt 2007 Marlborough Pinot Gris

Lifted pear drop aromas with pear and lanolin flavours giving classical Pinot Gris fruit characters. Very pure fruit flavours, a suggestion of sweetness and an ethereal texture. Impressive, concentrated wine.

The 2005 vintage is fleshy and well rounded, with strong citrus, peach and spice flavours, finely balanced and long.

Staete Landt Estate Grown Marlborough Pinot Gris 2004
This vintage is outstanding. Harvested over 25 Brix, it has a ripe, peachy, scented bouguet. Fleshy and rich, with sweet fruit delights and creamy texture, it's very weighty and concentrated, with a deliciously long and rounded finish (especially for a bone-dry wine).

Staete Landt Pinot Gris 2002
Solid, serious style as Staete Landt do in Marlborough; never heavy(despite high alcohol) but a very approachable wine with style and finesse. A classic to open up in 2004-06. Dry white $36

Staete Landt Pinot Noir 2002
A lovely fruited wine, still young yet deliciously soft in behind, a wine with some charm and elegance. A Pinot which is just a bit different and a wonderful statement opening up for 2005. Dry Red $36

State Landt Sauvignon Blanc 2002
Fascinating wine with its degree of barrel fermentation and lees contact yet the fresh, zingy style is not lost. A serious wine rather than the after-work-sipper. Very good drinking now. Dry White $25

Staete Landt Marlborough Pinot Gris
The 2000 is rich and weighty, with deep lychees and spice flavours, a soft, oily texture and strong drink-young appeal. The fleshy 2001 vintage was fermented and matured for four months on its light yeast lees in old French oak puncheons. It's a strapping wine(14.5 per cent alcohol) with rich, concentrated, peachy flavours, balanced acidity, considerable complexity and a creamy-smooth finish. DRY $34-V

Staete Landt 2000 Marlborough Pinot Gris
Full, quite rich in style, very much alive from a vineyard cropped low on purpose. Very nice, lots top say and mature, a great start for a young vineyard. No hurry into 2003.

Staete Landt 2000 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
Oak, alcohol and some intense fruit, a youthful style with all the best qualities of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc this year. Lots of flavours. Ready, no hurry into 2003.
