This wine was made from just two rows on their estate vineyard in the Rapaura district. The nose is beautifully perfumed displaying lemon curd, floral and ripe apple characters. The palate is delicate, yet intensely flavoured, with lush sweetness (69 g/l) which is superbly well balanced by the crisp acidity. A brilliantly structured and poised wine showing plenty of appeal already. At its best: now to 2016.
Estate-grown and hand picked at Rapaura, the 2008 vintage stop-fermented of its own accord with 8.5 per cent alcohol, leaving 67 grams/litre of residual sugar. Matured for five month in old oak cases, it is ripely flavoured, lemony, appely and spicy, with a lovely interplay of sweetness and crispness and good intensity.
