The classy 2008 vintage was estate grown at Rapaura, hand-picked, fermented in old French oak puncheons, then oak-aged for a further five months. It's a medium-dry style (11 grams/litre of residual sugar), intensely varietal and very finely balanced, with rich, ripe, lemon/lime flavours, a touch of complexity, and excellent harmony and length.
Staete Landt 2008 Marlborough Riesling Dry
Vivacious and lively Riesling that shows real crunch and bite. There are some ever so slight mealy notes underneath, which add to the texture, but this is mainly all about punchy citrus fruit and grapefruit skin flavours. A real pick-me-up of a wine.
