This is a single-vineyard Pinot Gris in the off-dry style that New Zealand Pinot Gris seems to be defining as its signature. The fruit is plush and luscious with lovely aromatics and good complexity, and it's balanced by the clean acidity needed to offset the potential sweetness. This is an excellent choice for all kinds of spicy dishes, whether asian or not, that feature white meat, fish, tofu or vegetables.
This single-vineyard wine, grown in the Rapaura district, is a bone dry style - unusual for Pinot Gris. Fermented in old French puncheons, it is full-bodied, fresh and finely poised, with vibrant stonefruit and spice flavours, ripe and rich, carrying the dry style perfectly.
Fresh, focused and nicely textured with a hint of herbiness and some grapey richness. Good acidity and nice purity. Stylish.
